Tillicum Village on Blake Island, WA

Tillicum Village Excursion to Blake Island WA

This is a really enjoyable outing. Folks visiting the Seattle area should try and fit this activity in with their stay. We have been on the Tillicum Excursion twice, and we have hopes of going again this coming summer season.

This excursion is 4 hours and begins with a 45 minute boat ride from Seattle to Blake Island. It’s a perfect chance to view a large working habor city from the water. The view of the city skyline is great, so be sure to have your camera ready!

As you are first setting foot on the island, you are greeted with a cup of fresh clam nectar. As is evident from past guests, simply drop your shells to the ground, adding to the crushed shell walkway.

You are treated to a super buffet of Northwest cuisine. Check out the menu on the web site I provide. I can tell you for a fact that the food is so very, very good!!

After the meal, sit back and watch an incredible 25-minute stage performance that combines Coast Salish storytelling and traditional Native American dance. Tillicum Village is the only place in the world to see these dances and hear these songs, performed by the dancers whose families have owned them for generations. It’s a wonderful learning opportunity for the whole family.

Guests will have a bit of time to visit the gift shop if you would like, or you can walk around for a bit. There are some nice trails, a marina, and a beach right close for exploring. We have been delighted with the deer that hang around eating the grass. They have seemed really relaxed with the visiting folks, as I’m sure they have gotten used to being among so many visitors.

Go to Trip Adviser and read the reviews from the many folks that have taken this trip. Many satisfied customers!!
